AB-Oligomeres Containing Charge-Transfer Chromophores

TCNE reacts with donor activated electron-rich acetylenes in a click-type manner to yield various donor-acceptor chromophores with exceptionally strong charge-transfer interactions. First reactions with variably substituted tricyanovinyl derivatives also were successful. In this project, we want to investigate the reactivity of those compounds toward oligoacetylenes with different donor substituents in detail.
